For many schools, May is like the end of a race: graduation, end of school ceremonies, finals, the hint of summer coming! This semester, like most of them, flew by fast and furious. You’ve worked hard, we get it. But civic dialogue is still important for students. They want and need to feel comfortable and open in current political conversations. CEEP continues to focus on helping bring resources and ideas to your campus to meet those needs. We’re working on ways to encourage students to volunteer with local candidates or work on issues that interest them.
What can students, staff, and faculty do during the summer? A lot, when it comes to preparing your campus for increased electoral engagement! Start or continue to grow your election engagement team on campus. Establish an academic credit or work-study program for students who take part in election work. CEEP will be working hard all summer to make sure we’re ready to join with you in these projects.
Please feel free to reach out to myself or your CEEP State Director with any questions. Thank you, always, for working together with us. Have a productive and relaxing summer.
Cheers,
Amy Ludwig
