Campus Election Engagement Project Condemns Tuesday’s Shootings in Georgia, Recent Increase in Anti-Asian Violence

Campus Election Engagement Project (CEEP) is horrified by Tuesday’s shootings in Georgia that left eight people dead, including six women of Asian descent. We condemn these violent attacks in the strongest possible terms. We stand in solidarity with and grieve alongside the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community during this period of immense pain.

CEEP also condemns the recent increase in violent attacks against the AAPI community that continues to plague our nation. These ongoing racist and violent attacks must stop. Racism and violence have no place in our country or our democracy.

CEEP is committed to dismantling the historical legacy of white supremacy and all other forms of exclusion. We recognize that our democracy cannot function unless everyone exercises basic decency and compassion toward their fellow citizens.

Here are several resources shared by CEEP staff members as we all try to process these recent racist and violent attacks against the AAPI community:

  • Stop AAPI Hate
  • 18 Million Rising (18MR)
  • Asian Mental Health Collective
