CEEP Explains the Iowa Caucus

With the 2020 Iowa Caucus right around the corner, Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids released a video hosted by CEEP Student Fellow Raina Hogberg. The humorous video featured real questions from Iowa City students, and a step by step guide to participating in a caucus. Caucuses are more complicated than ballot voting, and as shown in the video, many student voters don’t know where to start. The video walks them through the process, from what a caucus is, how they’re run, where to go to participate, and when to arrive.

A core part of engaging in democracy lies in educating the public regarding the different processes to participate. This video is a direct, one stop shop for student caucus education needs.
