As a first-gen Chicano student currently attending FRCC, Jose Perez Alonzo has hopes of being successful and able to not only provide for his family but his community as well. Currently he is studying to become a social worker, but as he is not 100% certain it will allow his goals to become a reality, he still considering his options and external sources that he could take in order to become successful. Due to this and his passion for giving back, he has joined several organizations such as TRIO, LEIA/LEADS, SGA (at FRCC), and has conducted independent research and outreach in order to better understand and address the issues surrounding his community properly. He is passionate and recognizes the only way to make things better is to become active in the civic landscape and encourage others to do the same. Gota por Gota.
