News Weekly Resources 0 Comments

Your weekly brief roundup of resources, opportunities, and the occasional shout-out from CEEP:

  1. Want to know what’s in the continuing rounds of the stimulus package for students (and what’s not)? Join us Friday, May 1st at noon ET for our Weekly Faculty/Staff Debrief (ask us for the meeting password), or the Student Chat & Chew on Thursday, May 7, at 5:00 p.m. ET. For the last Chat ‘n’ Chew, we will host a screening and discussion of Line in the Streets, a documentary on gerrymandering in Pennsylvania. Go to http://bit.ly/LitsRSVP to register.
  2. Speaking of the Weekly Debrief, if you missed last Friday’s session with Nancy Thomas of the IDHE, watch the video here. Lots of great ideas!
  3. We have a new Protect Your Vote social media toolkit available, helping spread the word for our Student Voting Initiative. Don’t forget to sign the letter!
  4. In case you missed it, our Colorado State Director Jan Brennan recently published an article on increasing turnout in local elections on the National Civic League website.
  5. Previously mentioned:
    • Let our guide on disinformation help you evaluate the trustworthiness of news and other sources of information.
    • Join our #universitypartners Slack channel to talk about your civic engagement efforts, and hear more about some of ours.
    • Learn how to use COVID as a teachable moment.
